Our Story

The story of DiIorio Farms begins in the heart of Italy, in a small riverside town called Ricca—just 100 miles east of Rome. The name DiIorio itself means “of the river,” symbolizing the deep roots and strong family ties that would carry across generations. In 1900, the DiIorio family embarked on a new journey, immigrating to the United States. Among them was Nick DiIorio, just nine years old, as they settled in Bolivar, Pennsylvania in search of opportunity.

By 1911, Nick made his way to Hempstead, Texas, where he purchased land for just 50 cents an acre. With hard work and determination, the DiIorio family cultivated their land, selling fresh fruits and vegetables to local stores and at a small roadside market in town.
